Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year! My name is Rosetta Harrell and I am the new Assistant Principal at KHMS. It is with great honor and joy to be able to assist Coach Bates with improving Student Academic Achievement.
As we begin this year, we know that there is a lot of uncertainty. Our Superintendent and her team is working vigorously to provide a safe educational environment for our students. The TPSS theme for the 2020- 2021 school year is “WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER.” At KHMS, we believe that we are indeed stronger together, whether physically in the same room or connected virtually. In both platforms, our teachers and staff will work to build relationships and help students achieve academic success. It is our goal to achieve personal excellence, one child at a time” whether that is done through remote or in-person learning.
At Roo Nation, we will continue to make sure our students learn through the different circumstances that come before us. Please continue to check the district and teacher’s websites, and your email for updates. At this time, students in grades 7th – 12th will be doing Virtual Learning. I have over 25 years of educational experiences in teaching, learning, and leading in Louisiana and Texas. I have taught school in Orleans Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, the Recovery School District, East Baton Rouge Parish, Jefferson Parish, and Garland ISD in Garland, Texas. I am committed to serving this community in a variety of ways, but most of all in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging space for our Roo Nation students during their years at KHMS. I look forward to meeting each of you and being the assistant principal of the school that you have trusted with your child.
