Welcome Tors to the 2020-21 School Year!
Greetings: My name is Mrs. Laura Porter-Greely. I am excited about this upcoming school year. Although we are on the virtual path, this course will have a mixture of learning activities that we will navigate. We will be reading, writing, thinking critically, and exploring the world of English literature and grammar together. This course will have regular weekly assignments, readings, and course material that each student is required to keep on top of each week. This is not a self-paced course. However, I am here to support you as we embark upon this course together. I look forward to a great academic year.
My Goals and Mission: My GOAL is to provide every student with a quality education in a safe, accountable, respectful, peaceful, and thriving learning environment. My MISSION is to provide a quality eduation to all students by being prepared, being a model of leadership and respect, and being a good listener. One of my favorite quotes is by Dr. King. It reads: "The time is always right to do what is right." If we keep this in mind, we can be successful in and out of the classroom.
What I expect from my students: I expect every student to be prepared to learn each day.I expect my students to be, first and most importantly, - "RESPECTFUL!." Students must be respectful to: themselves, the teacher, each other and all other faculty and staff. I expect students to complete assignments on time, work dilligently- taking pride in successfully completing assignments-, and to contact me with any concerns.
