Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year! My name is Raqual Keller, and I am very excited to work with you and your child as a second-year teacher at Hammond High Magnet School. I have worked at HHMS for eight years, five as a Paraprofessional. May 2020 I graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor's degree in FCS with a concentration in Child Development & Family Relations. I am very eager for this new school year, teaching my new students. Together we will make the best of the 2023-2024 school year through commitment, dedication and drive. 

 

My Beliefs/ What to expect: I believe in a learning environment in which students feel comfortable, where expectations are consistent and clear. It is important to me that students feel safe and comfortable enough to ask questions and be themselves. I believe that all students have the potential to be great leaders through their many talents, efforts, and determination. You should expect me to work hard to help each student to find their strengths and build upon those strengths.  

 

What I expect from my students: As with any learning process, the student must take responsibility for their academic performance and behavior. Students will be responsible for their own work. Students will be graded on a variety of topics. Please encourage your child to do their work to the best of their ability. Respect yourself and others. Do not give up; ask for help! 

 

My goal is to facilitate a positive learning environment and to help each child reach their full potential. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time regarding your child's success, progress, questions, or concerns.
