Dear students, parents, and guardians,

Where should I begin? There's so much for me to say, but what I choose to tell you first about myself is what I feel is most important. I started teaching 14 years ago because I saw many of our young people not understanding the importance of having an education and not realizing the opportunities that are closed when education is not seriuouly taken by one. So, I became a teacher to make a difference not knowing that I truly had my work cut out for me. However, I have enjoyed every step of the way.

This is my third year at Amite Magnet High School. In the past, I taught at several other schools. My first year, I taught English III, English III Honors, English IV and English IV honors. For 9 years I taught 7th grade English, and for 2 years I taught Communication and Information Technology. I hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a Master's degree in Education, and a Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership.

Now for the personal side of me. I have two daughters, a 3-year old granddaughter, which has my heart, and a 4 month old Maltipoo puppy. This pandemic allowed me the opportunity to begin a new hobby. I've always wanted to garden but never seemed to have the time. At the beginning of the pandemic, I planted veggies such as tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, red onions, and squash. Needless to say the squash was a bomber. I also planted herbs such as oregano, basil, chocolate mint, and spearmint. In addition, i started growing house plants.

This past June, a book that I am a couthor, Forged By Fire: Built God Tough, became a number 1 International Best Seller in 6 categories. Last but not least, I've started an online and in person tutoring service, Medulla Momma. When I'm not gardening, I enjoy watching TV: mainly action movies. What am I passionate about? The color purple, steak and lamb.

Please know that I am approachable and I'm always ready to listen. Should a problem arise please talk to me and let's find a solution together.

In your service,

Ms. Jones
