Dear Parents,

I am thrilled to be your child’s Special Education Teacher this year. We will continue using the Core Knowledge Language Arts program for reading and writing using a phonics approach, in conjunction with Wit &Wisdom to work on your child’s comprehension skillsq. Math will be taught from Eureka. It will allow your child to know not only the process of solving a problem but also gain a deep understanding of why the process works.

School closed early due to COVID19 and I know you may be concerned with the skills your child missed, however for the first nine weeks I will be working with your child to refresh and reteach those skills. It is important that we collaborate together to make sure your child practice learned skills at home. I will be sending home a homework packet weekly.

Students that are attending virtually will work with me on an individual basis through your Chromebook. Together we will make a schedule to meet hopefully through Zoom. This may change so please be patient because this is new to us and we want to provide the best instruction that we can to our virtual students.

Students who will attend school in person must wear a mask. If they don’t have one, one will be provided. We will practice social distancing, handwashing and temperature checks daily. Our main priority is Safety.

I’m excited about the progress your child will make this school year. The parish theme for this year is “Stronger Together” and I believe that working together supporting your child will ensure that he/she will excel and have a successful year.

If you need to reach me, please call the school at (985) 345-6857 or you can contact me by email at [email protected].
