Class Supplies: Students are required to maintain a 1” binder with tab dividers (10) for the year. This binder will
contain all class work and handouts. It should remain up-to-date at all times. Students are required to complete
assignments in blue or black ink, and to bring several different colored highlighters to class. Pencil is used only for
drawing and math. Loose-leaf paper is required. Points off for ripped edges. If students are unprepared for class, they
may borrow necessary items from the teacher at the beginning of class in exchange for their ID or other accepted
“collateral” to be returned to the student at the end of class when borrowed items are returned. BOYS: Paper Towels (1
roll) & Germ X Hand Sanitizer/ GIRLS: Kleenex (1 box) & Germ X Hand Sanitizer
Grading: Hammond High Magnet School uses a six-week grading period. The grading scale is posted in the room. You
are expected to complete ALL assignments, whether present in class or not. Points earned will be written on your graded
work as a fraction of what you have earned. i.e. 19/20. If only one number is written on your graded work then you
have earned full credit. Work will be returned in a timely manner. Be advised, however, teacher often cannot
return work until all students have completed it.
Parish-Approved Grading Scale:

 A 93% to 100%
 B 85% to 92%
 C 75% to 84%
 D 67% to 74%
 F 66% and below
 Student Absences and Make-up Work: It is the student’s responsibility to complete all make-up work
after an excused absence in a timely manner. If you are absent, you missed something important! You
may ask a classmate or the teacher what you have missed, but NOT during instructional time.
Assignments may also be found on OnCourse. Parish policy will be followed regarding make-up work.
Make-up work is NOT to be done during class time. A grade of zero will be given for make-up work
done during class. When accepted, late work will be graded at 50% of the points earned. Late
assignments are graded and entered as time permits.
 Lab Fee: $5.00 is due now. Please pay as directed by HHMS. This fee is used to pay for the
consumable supplies needed to provide the valuable learning experiences provided by this class.

question or problem. We are partners all working toward the same goal – student learning success.
Students may talk privately with the teacher as necessary. Parents, please email me at the address above
