Digital Graphics

Graphic Design is the study of artistic design integrated with type, a commercial artform that asks the artist to consider the guidelines of a client's project and create a print or web publication best suited to it.  In Digital Graphics, students will work with three industry-based Adobe programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.  They will do exercises to get comfortable with the software, complete projects, and then test to become an Adobe Certified Associate in that program.

After taking Digital Graphics, Jumpstart students will have enough understanding to work in the programs to take client jobs after high school.  College-bound students will have a strong foundation in design that will be useful for any Visual Art, Communications, English, or Business major.

Some of the projects we work on are photomanipulation, logo design, book design, and web design.

If you need extra computer lab hours to work on a project, you need to notify me as early as possible since I need to schedule them after school.  Realize that my primary classroom is not the computer lab, so you can't just pop in during the day to work on your project.

Most assignments and projects will be made available via OnCourse Classroom.
